The Czech training market

Mapping the size of state economies, the three biggest training markets amongst the former socialist countries joining the EU in 2004 are Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic. The Czech market is about 10-20% smaller than the Hungarian one: it is worth around 20 million Euros.

The Czech market is unique in the fact that most training companies do not only operate in the Czech Republic but consider Slovakia as a satellite country. This can be explained by the behavior of the national and international companies operating within the borders of the former Czechoslovakia: these companies usually think about the two countries as one unit, their network crosses the borders, and in several cases they operate with one management, mainly in Prague . This is the reason for involving external service providers centrally, and often the same in both countries.
